Job Title:  Laboratory Manager

Position Type:  Full-time, hourly

Location:  Amherst, WI

Job Description / Responsibilities:

  • Oversee laboratory and all quality operations
  • Packaging analysis, including but not limited to DO, CO2, pressure, and overall packaging integrity
  • Daily microbiological sampling, plating, and analysis, including plating, use of differential media, colony identification and characterization
  • Independently and proactively initiate, manage, document and present projects to improve quality/consistency and brewery processes
  • Assist with daily fermentation monitoring
  • Maintain calibration and proper operation of laboratory equipment, ensure accuracy and reliability of measurements, and refine SOPs
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and document real-time quality issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Oversee barrel aging program
  • Create and implement SOPs

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable science
  • Great work ethic, must be able to work unsupervised 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to multitask effectively 

Hours

45 hrs. / week, full benefit package
